Jana Sena demands new notification for municipal polls

The municipality polls were started by the SEC, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar last year, in March. Sadly, the elections had to be postponed because of the spreading of Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh. Now that the local elections are about to come to an end, the SEC is looking to continue the postponed elections.

However, members of the Jana Sena are strongly opposing the idea of the SEC, who is looking to complete all the elections as soon as possible because he is about to retire very soon. Jana Sena leader Nadendla Manohar has said that it is not right to conduct the municipal elections without the issuance of a new notification. He even said that it is not democratic to restart the municipal elections just a year after the previous elections had been postponed.

SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh has been facing some or the other issue with respect to the elections since last year. First, it was Coronavirus, then it was Chief Minister Jagan’s wrath, which led to the SEC being removed from the office, fighting for his post and returning to it with the help of the judiciary.
