2022 was a bad phase for the tech employees as the employers sacked lakhs of employees due to various reasons. Be it cost costing or making the workforce crisp employers across the globe removed the employees. Mostly the employees who lost their jobs and turned unemployed.
But the current trends show that the tech employees will not have a good time in the new year as well. A few major tech giants gave an unforgettable new year gift by sacking them from their jobs. Turning unemployed is the worst nightmare one could have and this is a reality for many.
More than 20,000 employees who work for various tech giants have been sacked by their respective employers which is not a good start the tech world wants. 2023 had barely begun and six days into the new year more than 28,000 employees lost their jobs.
The exercise is expected to get continued with the leading tech giants joining the row and sacking employers. It has to be mentioned here that a few days back leading e-commerce giant Amazon announced that it is laying off employees.
In the coming few weeks, the employees will be sacked from their positions at Amazon. The management has sent emails to the employees who will be sacked informing the same. As a lending hand, the company assured support like special benefits and support to help employees get another job.
As per the information tracked by a few aggregators as of the 5th of January, more than 28,000 employees have been sacked and the numbers are quite higher than the jobs which were removed in the whole month of December. It took just five days for the tech world to surpass the jobs which are removed in 31 days.
So 2023 had a terrible start. If just 5 days thousands of employees have been sacked and it is expected that the ongoing year would be the worst of the worse for the sector and employees.
The tech companies which received massive projects during the pandemic period are not getting projects at a similar stage. The workflow is going on casually and there is no additional burden. As the work is not more than deliverable the companies are reducing the workforce.
