Nani‘s much-acclaimed film ‘Jersey‘, which showcases the story of a cricketer, has won the best Telugu film and best editing award at the 67th National Film Awards.
After the film’s twin wins, the movie team is on cloud nine and several actors from the industry congratulated the team for bagging two prestigious awards.
Meanwhile, there were reports that director Gowtam Tinnanuri is not satisfied with the awards, as he wanted two more big awards for his film.
Interacting with a popular media house, the director said lead actor Nani should have won the best actor award for Jersey. The film would have been perfect if it had come. When asked whether he is disappointed that the film failed to get the national best film award, Gowtam said there is no such thing and he is happy for what Jersey got.
The director also heaped praises on film editor Navin Nooli for receiving the National Award for Editing.
Jersey stars Nani and Shraddha Srinath in lead roles. The film has Harish Kalyan, Sanusha, Sathyaraj and Sampath Raj in pivotal roles. The sports drama, which was released in 2019, is now being remade into Hindi with Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor.
