Despite not delivering hits last year, the craze for Nani’s movies has not diminished at all.
His upcoming release “Jersey” has done record pre-release business in his career bringing table profits to the producer Naga Vamshi of Sithara Entertainments banner.
Thanks to the different storyline of a middle-aged cricketer and the interesting promotional videos, “Jersey” has created good buzz around it. This has made distributors to pay good prices for the movie for its theatrical rights.
Andhra area was sold in the range of Rs 11 to Rs 12 Cr, while Nizam was given for Rs 8 Cr.
The Ceded and Overseas rights together fetched the producers Rs 8 Cr. Rs 2.5 Cr came from Karnataka theatrical rights. The film did more than Rs 30 Cr theatrical business.
Digital, satellite and Hindi dubbing rights altogether brought in Rs 12 cr additionally.
The sports drama was made with the budget of Rs 22 Cr. So, producers have gained huge profits and they have parted some of the profits made on this movie to lead hero Nani.
“Jersey” is set to be released on April 19. It is directed by Gautam Tinnanuri and the movie is carrying good expectations.
