Kadapa Steel Plant put on hold yet again!

A steel factory was proposed to be built in Kadapa back when YS Rajasekhar Reddy was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh itself. He even laid the foundation for this. However, things didn’t work out due to several circumstances after that, and then, everything changed after the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh.

After Chandrababu Naidu became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, even he laid the foundation for Kurnool’s steel factory. TDP MP CM Ramesh had even gone to the extent of indefinite fasting, for the establishment of the steel plant, but the government changed in 2019.

Even Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted to construct a steel plant in Kurnool and even gave the construction project to Liberty Steels company. When everything seemed to be just about right, AP Industries Minister, Goutham Reddy, on Wednesday, announced that the company that the project has been given to, Liberty Steels, is currently not in a financially stable position, because of which the Steel Plant has once again been put on hold.

Goutham Reddy has also said that the decision of whether the government should now construct the steel plant, or if the project should be given to other companies who took part in the bid, has not been taken.
