The highly anticipated science fiction film “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas in the titular role, has been pushed back from its original release date of May 9th. Director Nag Ashwin has opted for a unique approach to announce this postponement.
While the film itself nears completion, the production team is shifting gears to focus on a groundbreaking promotional campaign. In a move that breaks from tradition, the team will forego releasing conventional trailers. Instead, they will unveil the movie’s star-studded cast, featuring Prabhas alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone, through captivating animated videos. These introductions are expected to be released on an Over-the-top (OTT) platform, with Netflix emerging as a potential sponsor. The animation and dubbing for these ten key character introductions are already complete.
An official announcement regarding the new release date and this innovative promotional strategy is anticipated soon. In the meantime, Prabhas continues to juggle multiple projects. He is currently filming cameos in “Kannappa” and “The Raja Saab,” while simultaneously working on “Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam.”
