Kamal Haasan Shots The Idea To Have Second Capital For Tamil Nadu

Actor-turned-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder and president Kamal Haasan has addressed a political rally in temple city Madurai to start his political campaign for the upcoming 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Addressing the political campaign, Kamal Hassan has batted for the idea to make the temple city the second capital of Tamil Nadu.

He shot the idea to make Madurai the second from the shoulders of Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, late Maruthur Gopalan Ramachandran, and called it MGR’s dream.

News Agency ANI quoted Kamal Hassan as saying: Making Madurai as the second capital of Tamil Nadu was the dream of Purachithalaivar MGR, we will make Madurai as the second capital if we come to power.

Kamal Hassan has a close association with the temple city Madurai. He has floated his Makkal Needhi Maiam party back in 2018 from Madurai only. Now, he started his political campaign from the same city.

It is believed that the Universal Hero Kamala Hassan wants to contest from the Madurai constituency. Coincidentally, MGR has also contested from the Madurai west constituency.

Experts cite that Kamal Hassan wants to woo the voters from Madurai that’s why he has pitched the idea which was pitched long back by the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Looks like the move to have multiple capitals for the decentralisation of development of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has reached the neighboring states too.
