Kapu Reservation: Mudragadda house arrested for 24 hrs

The Andhra Pradesh government, on Wednesday morning, barred Kapu leader Mudragadda Padmanabham before he began his ‘Padayatra’ from his residence in Kirlampudi, East Godavari.

In view of mounting tensions over his Padayatra, Mudragadda is house arrested. The police officials also detained several Kapu leaders from state who’re reaching Kirlampudi to hold this unauthorized  ‘Padayatra’ demanding BC status for Kapu community.

As soon as Mudragadda came out of his residence, police sleuths halted and sent him back inside home. After a brief argument with policemen, the Kapu leader went back to his residence without speaking to media. On other hand, his followers demanded an explanation for stopping Padmanabham, who has the freedom to express as per Article 19.

However, Police confirm that they didn’t arrest anyone but asked Mudragadda to confine to home for next 24 hours.
