Kavithakka, You Have Done Great Job

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and Nizamabad Lok Sabha member K Kavitha has announced to adopt 80 families of farmers who have committed suicide owing to debt burden and crop failure. Leading sportspersons took part in the event and donated for the cause. Tennis player Sania Mirza, badminton player Jwala Gutta and cricketer Pragyan Ojha are among the ones who responded to Kavitha’s request and lent their support to the farmers’ families.

Telangana state brand ambassador Sania donated Rs 3 lakh, while Jwala and Ojha donated 10 lakhs and 2 lakhs respectively. The event organized by Kavitha at TRS Bhavan was also attended by Ojha, Jwala and Sania’s mother Naseema Mirza. Sania failed to make for the meeting as she is in China for a tournament.

Telangana Jagruthi led by Kavitha will tour across the state to identify the families in distress. According to government, around 430 farmers committed suicide in the last one year, of which 141 have been found eligible for compensation in accordance with the government’s criteria. The adopted families will get Rs 5,000 a month from Telangana Jagruthi. Kavithakka, you really have done great job.
