Telangana CM KCR is likely to join the election campaign of the TRS in the Huzurabad bypoll, albeit indirectly. KCR may not visit Huzurabad, but is likely to address a massive public meeting either in Husnabad or in Mulkanur, which are very close to Huzurabad assembly constituency, on October 27, the last date of the campaign.
The reason for holding a public meeting outside Huzurabad assembly constituency is because of the restrictions imposed by the Election Commission. The election commission has ordered that no public meeting should have more than 1000 participants in view of the Covid situation. Hence, the public meeting is being held very close to the constituency, but outside it. The TRS cadres can be mobilised from the constituency in a big way. Also, this meeting expenditure does not come under the purview of election expenditure.
Interestingly, KCR played a similar trick earlier too. While the Dubbak bypoll was going on, KCR organised a farmers’ meeting in a village very close to Dubbak but outside its jurisdiction. He made several promises in this meeting to woo the farmers. However, the TRS had lost the election to the BJP in the bypoll.
The TRS is celebrating October 27 with massive rallies all across Telangana as part of a preparatory exercise for the upcoming party plenary on November 15. A massive public meeting would be held in Mamunur near Warangal city as part of the plenary.
