Telangana Chief Minister, and Telangana Rashtra Samithi Chief, KCR, has been in a dilemma so far, about who to pick as the candidate for the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar MLA by-elections. He was in a dilemma following a few losses but looks like KCR is back to making decisions quickly, following the TRS’s victory in the recently concluded MLC elections.
It has been confirmed that KCR’s candidate for the Sagar by-elections is Nomula Narasimhaiah’s son, Nomula Bhagath. Following the unfortunate and untimely death of Narasimhaiah in December 2020, the Sagar constituency is now going for a by-election.
Initially, it was expected that KCR would choose another person, as the sentiment of letting candidates related to previous candidates who have passed away is not working out. However, following the victory in the MLC elections, the CM seems to have changed his mind once again.
It has been said that KCR has passed on the information of selecting Bhagath as the candidate to the party people in Nalgonda as well. Bhagath is also said to be getting the right kind of support from these people.
They were speculations hat KCR was considering a Reddy person for this by-election but ultimately decided that only a person belonging to the BC community can be given the chance.
Yadavs are high in number in the area, but since they do not particularly show any interest in politics, the decision has been made to once again give the chance to Nomula’s son only.
