Telangana Chief Minister KCR recently fired his PRO Gatika Vijay Kumar from his post after a huge scam involving came to light. Vijay was an ordinary Telugu daily writer in the Warangal district before he became the PRO in CMO.
KCR called Vijay to Pragathi Bhavan late in the night on Wednesday and asked him to put down his papers and resign from his post. KCR has also fired Vijay from his post of general manager (corporate communications) of Telangana Transco. No matter how hard Vijay tried to plead with the Chief Minister about being retained at least as the general manager of Telangana Transco, the Chief Minister has been very firm about his decision. The CM is also said to have told Vijay to not go near Pragathi Bhavan ever again.
Despite there being a Chief PRO in Pragathi Bhavan, Vijay is said to have been more influential than any other person, and sis aid to have called the shots, with the help of a group of his own. Vijay is said to have indulged in several land dealings and settlements, including illegal ones, and has been central to the posting of 20 Circle Inspectors in Hyderabad.
Vijay is said to have never cared for anyone in the party, including KTR or Kavitha, and neither the ministers nor MLAs. The scam that Vijay is a part of is estimated to be a 100 Crores land scam in the outskirts of Hyderabad. This piece of information is said to have been taken to the notice of KCR a long time ago, but the CM is said to have given his fair chance of doubt to Vijay, after which he decided to fire Vijay from his position.
