KCR Friend In Race For President Of India?

With the BJP led NDA began exercise to find a suitable candidate for India’s President post, thick speculations are brewing in the political circles that Maharastra Governor Ch Vidhayasagar Sagar Rao will be the nominee from ruling BJP in the elections to be held June this year.

As the Incumbent Pranab Mukherjee’s term is ending in July, hectic parlays are taking place between NDA partners to zero in on the candidate. A section of leaders in BJP brought to the idea of fielding Maharastra Governor Vidhayasagar Rao as Presidential nominee.

Sources said Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also expressed his readiness to support the Governor as KCR is maintain strong rapport with the Rao who also hailed from Telangana . Rao had played a key role in resolving water disputes between Telangana and Maharastra last year. As a result, KCR entered agreement with Maharashtra on construction of projects on river Godavari recently.

Rao’s long standing association with RSS and his nearly three decade political career in BJP will help Rao to clinch the post. However a final decision will be taken only after arriving at consensus among all partners.
