KCR makes another U turn: says no third or fourth front

True to his maverick style, Telangana CM KCR, who has been attacking PM Modi right, left and centre and has been meeting non-BJP CMs to come up with a non-BJP front, has said that there is no proposal whatsoever of forming either an anti-BJP or anti-Congress front at the national level. He said nothing has so far been finalized on the issue of the third or fourth front.

Bringing curtains down on the talk of the third or fourth front, he said that nothing has been decided about the front. He said this in Ranchi after meeting Jharkhand CM Hemanth Soren. The Jharkhand CM too was present at the press conference. “I am too clever for you. You cannot extract anything that I do not intend to reveal,” he told the mediapersons.

KCR’s latest comments are completely at variance with what he has been saying for the past few weeks. He talked about an anti-BJP and anti-Congress front when he met DMK chief and Tamil Nadu CM Stalin and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. He had also invited RJD’s Tejaswi Yadav to Hyderabad to discuss the anti-BJP front.

However, the CM, who spent four days in Delhi without meeting anyone except BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Subramanyam Swamy, has suddenly changed tack and said that nothing has so far been finalized on the issue of forming the front. He said he was meeting the leaders across the country to find common ground. The political analysts are now breaking their heads as to why KCR has suddenly made a U Turn.

It may be recalled that KCR talked about Federal Front ahead of the 2019 elections. He talked about a non-BJP front. But, everything died down soon after the election results were out. In fact, he tried to adopt a friendly attitude with the Centre after the 2019 elections.
