Telangana CM KCR and his government is planning to celebrate Godavari pushkarams in a grand manner for the 12 days as these are the first pushkarams after the formation of Telangana. However confusion is on whether KCR will just start pushkarams at holy place of Dharmapuri, Karimnagar district or take bath in Godavari.
In 2003 pushkarams taking bath in Godavari on pushkarams at Dharmapuri he prayed for the formation of Telangana. Recently he announed that he will take dip in Godavari during pushkarams and fulfill his vow at Dharmapuri. KCR decided to reach Dharmapuri on 13 July, a day before the start of pushkarams on July 14 and stay overnight.
But it is not clear whether KCR will inaugurate pushkarams or take bath. Govt machinery is already working overnight to make all arrangements for KCR’s pushkar bath. If KCR decides to take bath then he should walk along with temple priests, pandits and people to river Godavari.
But police already taken decision to allow people along the route and the question is whether police will make their own arrangements for KCR’s safety. Under these circumstances it is quite difficult for even a minister or VIP to inaugurate pushkarams. It has to be seen what KCR will do in such a situation.
