It is strange to see some of our leaders when it comes to understanding their attitudes in public and a different stance in private. This is with regards to the prestigious project Pranahitha Chevella and the TRS boss KCR’s comments on it.
If reports in media are to be believed, Telangana CM KCR has termed Pranahitha Chevella as a paadu (bad/worse) project for reasons unknown. Currently, as per the already approved designs during United AP, this project is only few steps away from national status proposal.
But after meeting Maharashtra CM Fadnavis, KCR’s changed stance over project height, submergence area and project location has severely angered irrigation officials of the newly formed state.
According to the report, KCR is unilaterally taking decisions like shifting the project to Kaleswaram from Tummidihatti in Adilabad. And he is reportedly taking unscientific decisions without consulting anyone.
If his plans go ahead, which is the case as no one will dare to oppose him, it would take another two years to even start the national status process with heavily escalating project cost.
