Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao has reportedly taken the responsibility of running the state government after his father and the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao left for New Delhi on a week long official tour. The primary purpose of his visit to national capital is to participate in the filing of nomination by NDA’s presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind.
Meanwhile, KTR has been asked to cancel all his programmes and scheduled visits in the Telangana districts and stay in Hyderabad running the administration till the return of KCR. As the unofficial Acting CM, the IT minister will review the proposed Haritha Haaram, Mission Bhagiratha and Sheep distribution schemes regularly and instruct officials to speed up the programmes. He will also hold regular meetings with Chief Secretary, DGP and Secretaries to ascertain the execution of schemes.
This is not the first time KTR has stepped into his father’s shoes. Whenever KCR goes out of Telangana on official tours, its KTR who runs the show in the state. KCR has received positive feedback from authorities on his son’s swift decision making skill and able administration hence he is more than happy to let his son take his place in his absence.
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will also fly off to national capital on Thursday. Besides taking part in the filing of nomination by Kovind, he will hold crucial meeting with Prime minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Chandrababu may once again request Modi to allot Governor post to his party leader Mothkupally Narasimhulu.
