It is known that Tesla Inc has been trying to enter the Indian market for some time. Recently, CEO Elon Musk stated that the company is working through a lot of challenges with the government in India to launch its electric cars.
The 58-year-old billionaire made this claim on his Twitter and it caught the attention of Telangana minister KT Rama Rao. As soon as Musk tweeted that he is not getting enough support from the government, KTR has now invited Tesla CEO to set up shop in his state.
Taking to Twitter, KTR wrote: “Hey Elon, I am the Industry & Commerce Minister of Telangana state in India. Will be happy to partner Tesla in working through the challenges to set shop in India/Telangana. Our state is a champion in sustainability initiatives & a top notch business destination in India.”
Needless to say, Telangana has already been home for marquee US companies such as Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Facebook to name a few. If Telsa enters the state, then it would surely make Telangana more valuable.
On the other side, the government sources denied Tesla CEO’s remark saying that Elon Musk is trying to put pressure on the centre as he wants to reduce import duties on its cars without a commitment to producing locally.
