Lady director Nandini Reddy scored a decent hit with her debut film Ala Modalaindi starring Nani and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. She was lauded from all the corners for her work and received some lucrative offers from top makers. However, it’s the story of her other films that received a flak, for being copied from other sources.
When it comes to Ala Modalaindi she’s criticised for picking up some of the episodes from Hollywood blockbusters like ‘When Harry Met Sally’ and ‘100 Days of Summer’. She then directed Jabardasth featuring Siddarth and Samantha which ended up as a disaster. Surprisingly she landed into troubles as the film as a close copy of Hindi movie ‘Band Baaja Baarat’. That spat went to court and got settled only after producer paid some money, say reports. Later she has come up with “Kalyana Vaibhogame” but the film hasn’t impressed big time.
Now, Nandini Reddy is all set to remake Bollywood blockbuster “Hindi Medium” in quite a legal way. The film which dealt with the educational system in India will have official Telugu remake to be helmed by our lady director. Irrfan Khan played the lead role and Nandini Reddy is currently penning the script for the Telugu version.
Film industry folks are saying, finally Nandini Reddy seems to be paying for her story for the first time. Senior hero Venkatesh is expected to reprise the role of Irrfan in the remake.
