Ever since Outlook, one of the country’s leading news publication houses, published the extremely derogatory and sexist article about the senior IAS officer, Smita Sabharwal, criticism against the magazine has been pouring in from all corners of the nation. Also, several media houses, women’s organizations, celebrities and even common people have been condemning the article and extended their support to Smita Sabharwal.
Joining the list of these celebs now is the Tollywood actress Lakshmi Manchu, who lashed out at Outlook and said that the article has crossed all the limits of decency and followed no media ethics. Stating that targeting such a high-rank female bureaucrat in such a down-rightly appalling way is highly unacceptable.
Speaking further, Lakshmi Manchu further said that strict action must be taken against such articles and cheap tactics. Meanwhile, Outlook has already tendered an apology to anyone who is hurt by the article and said that the article was not intended to hurt anyone and that it should be taken lightly.
