By now, everyone in India has heard the widely popular song ‘Oo Antava.. Oo Oo Antava’ song at least once. As soon as the song came out, many people criticised Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad for giving such a lame track and claimed that it is not at the level of other item songs which came under the Sukumar-DSP combo. But the entire narrative changed within a few days as the addictive tune started to get stuck in the minds of people.
The song turned out to be a huge hit across the nation and it is still going steady in the charts. It is being played in Bollywood award functions, music festivals and even in other countries as well. The hook tune has become a part of the Indian Premier League as well. It is being used to cheer up the audience in the stadiums. Many celebrities danced to this song and you involuntarily shake your head or tap your feet when the song plays.
That is the impact this song created but senior singer LR Eshwari who is known for her item songs like ‘Le Le Na Raja’, ‘Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy’, ‘Teesko Coca-Cola’ and others songs is not a fan of this track from ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.
She said, “Is that even a song? The composition and singing will be on the same pitch right from the beginning to the end. Singers will sing as they were instructed. It is the music director’s responsibility to monitor them. If that song was offered to me, it would have reached the next level.” Remembering the old days, she said, “As we are seniors and we worked with seniors, our songs are still entertaining audiences even now. In those days, a film used to run for 100 or 200 days. Now, running for 10 days itself has become a big thing.” This clearly shows how trend changes from one generation to other.
