Tollywood’s star heroes and top directors are always of the opinion that masses are the heart of the success formula and to win silver screen wars, one should entertain masses. So right from the olden days they used to make films that are completely loaded with mass dialogues, double meaning stuff , breathtaking stunts, hero teasing heroines before romancing them, and then thrashing villains knocking living day lights out of them. Films like ‘Samarasimha Reddy’ gave new dimension to mass entertainers and many similar films flooded tollywood to entertain. However masses used their intelligence and sent many of them packing.
Though many times they drove home the point that they appreciate creativity and innovativeness in storyline, heroes and directors did not give importance to their feelings. Even young and upcoming heroes like Naga Chaitanya who entertained all with ‘Yemaya Chesave’ and Prabhas with ‘Mr.Perfect’ started trying for mass image. Chaitu is undeterred even though masses showed him his true place making ‘100% love’ super hit while detesting ‘Dada’ and ‘Bezawaad’. Balakrishna tasted failure with ‘Adhinayakudu’ and NTR with ‘Dammu’. Even Mass Raja Ravi Teja failed to entertain masses with ‘Nippu’, ‘Veera’, ‘Daruvu’ and more recently ‘Deuvud Chesina Manushulu’.
All this shows that masses are scared of stars’ ‘mass attacks’. However they are not halting as films like Autonagar Surya, Rebel, Srimannarayana, Adda and others are waiting to attack masses.
