A medal-less farewell for Bindra

Abhinav Bindra, who has been India’s strongest medal hope in Rio Olympics, has lost out on bronze, in the event of men’s 10m air rifle, by a whisker. On Day-3 at Olympics, it started out very well as the former gold medalist managed to finish 7th place in the qualifying round with 625.7 points. On other hand, Abhinav’s Indian companion Gagan Narang failed to make it to finals with 621.7 points.

Leaving fans and sports enthusiasts in disappointment, Abhinav Bindra moved out of Rio Olympics with 4th position (finished with a score of 163.8) by missing out on bronze to Vladimir Maslennikov(with a score of 184.2) of Russia.

The medal-less farewell to Abhinav came down as a big upset to the entire nation. However, regardless of result, some of his fans are cheering him up for his heroic performance.As announced by the champion early this year, Rio will bring down the curtains for his legendary sports career.
