The makers of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram appear to be a happy lot as they have recovered a big chunk of their investments just from the non theatrical rights of the film.
While it is all but confirmed that the digital and satellite rights of Vikram were sold to Star Network for a hefty price, here is a look at the financial aspects of the deal.
Apparently, the digital and satellite rights of Vikram were sold to Star Networks for a whopping Rs 125 crores which is one of the biggest ever deals in Indian cinema. The film’s satellite rights are held by Star Networ and it will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar following its theatrical release.
Vikram is now one of the premium acquisitions of Disney+Hotstar in the South Indian OTT market and they appear to be holing to expand their footprint with the film following its OTT premieres.
Vikram has Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil, and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
