Amazon Prime Video’s unique content is by all accounts getting a great deal of spotlight. Mirzapur has become an instant hit among youth for its bold dialogues and adult content. Ever since Mirzapur season 2 has been out on Amazon Prime, the web-series has attracted many controversies. From using the name ‘Mirzapur‘ to a man killing his love inspired by Munna’s character, it has been popular for wrong reasons.
The makers apparently seem to be mired in the controversy all the time. After a case already filed in Lucknow court for picturing UP citizens as criminals, presently creators of Mirzapur are confronting another legal tussle. A lawsuit has been documented against Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Bhaumik Gondaliya at the Kotwali Dehat police headquarters of Mirzapur for purportedly displaying Mirzapur region in bad light through offensive content, triggering social hatred.
An objection has been raised by Arvind Chaturvedi who asserted that the web show has hurted the religious sentiments.
The FIR was lodged under IPC sections 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the IPC along with sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
