With the Lok Sabha polls in the offing, ruling TRS party has initiated the ‘Operation Akarsha’ in the Telangana. After Rega Kantha Rao and Athram Sakku, one more Congress MLA is on his way into the CAR party.
Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah is prepping up himself to join TRS and accordingly met minister and incharge of Nalgonda district TRS, Jagadeesh Reddy and held negotiations. After meeting the minister, Lingaiah is said to have also met CM KCR at Pragathi Bhavan secretly.
This is not just a blow to Congress but also to Komati Reddy brothers as Lingaiah is a staunch follower of them. In the recent assembly elections, it was Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy who lobbied for Lingaiah’s ticket. With Lingaiah’s exit, the Congress is almost deserted in the Nalgonda district. It’s only Komati Reddy brothers, Jana Reddy and TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy left in Nalgonda Congress.
The date of Lingaiah formally joining TRS is yet to be decided. TPCC and CLP are yet to react on Lingaiah’s move to TRS.
