Love him or loathe him, but you cannot ignore Narendra Modi. Now he has achieved another rare record. He has now notched up one crore subscriptions on YouTube, He has become the first head of the state to achieve this feat. Brazil’s president Bolsanaro stands second with 36 lakh subscribers.
Modi used to top the popularity chart even in Twitter, but due to the recent hacking of his Twitter handle, his account suffered some loss. But, on YouTube, he continues to reign supreme. His speeches and comments are eagerly lapped up by both fans and foes alike. Modi has emerged as the most tech and social media savvy politician in the world.
Interestingly, no other global politician could even reach the 50 lakh mark on YouTube. In fact, the subscriptions of US President Joe Biden have come down. His subscriptions are pegged at a mere 7.03 lakh. His popularity ratings have come down considerably after he took over. His vice president Kamala Harris is way down below in terms of subscriptions. Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obradore has 30.7 lakh subscribers. Indonesian president Joco Widodo has 29.8 lakh subscriptions.
In contrast, Modi’s rival Rahul Gandhi’s subscribers are 5.25 lakh. Shashi Tharoor has 4.39 lakh subscribers. MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has 3.73 lakh subscribers on the YouTube. Tamil Nadu CM Stalin has around 2.12 lakh subscribers.
