Mona Lisa With Moustache & Beard Creates Record

Mona Lisa, inarguably the world’s most famous and beautiful painting, carved by iconic artiste Leonardo Da Vinci, continues to astonish and amuse people in various forms, including its innumerable spin offs and reproductions.

The reproduction of Mona Lisa, where the renowned French artist Marcel Duchamp made minimal modifications to the original painting by drawing a beard and moustache, has recently been sold for $750,000 (Rs 5 Cr approx.) at an auction in Paris. The price is said to be a record in its own right.

Duchamp, who is considered as the father of conceptual art, created the reproduction of Mona Lisa in 1964.
