Most Controversial Film Hitting Telugu Screens

Anything is possible in democratic country like India. A spiritual leader with millions of followers had hit headlines last year by announcing his entry into films. In fact, his film entry itself was a big controversy then and in addition he picked a controversial subject.

The preacher we are discussing about is Punjab’s most influential man Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and the film is MSG: The Messenger of God. Apart from portraying lead role, Gurmeet co-directed the film along with Jeetu Arora. He also choreographed stunts, besides composing 9 songs.

Despite the fact that MSG was a commercial failure, Gurmeet is coming up with sequel for the film. Promotional content for the film describes it as revolving “around the reformation of tribals from their alienated lives in jungles to the mainstream social life”. Surprisingly, Gurmeet has plans to release the film in Telugu too.

The Telugu version trailer released today to vast response. In fact, the trailer wasn’t that great, still it went viral as it appeared like fun stuff for Telugu audience. The visuals, background score and graphics were substandard. Gurmeet indeed is not a hero material, although he is willing to cash on his craze and the controversy created during 1st part release. Meanwhile, MSG 2 is likely to release later this month or in October.
