King Nagarjuna is arriving with a full-length action thriller after a long time. The movie is titled ‘The Ghost’ and it garnered decent expectations with its trailer and other promotional content. Directed by Praveen Sattaru, this movie is releasing grandly on October 5th. But there is a big problem with the release date as Megastar Chiranjeevi’s movie ‘Godfather’ is also arriving on the same day.
Both the films have announced their release dates and there is no backing down now. As we know, ‘Godfather’ is an official remake of the Malayalam film ‘Lucifer’. Directed by Mohan Raja, this remake has Salman Khan and Nayanthara playing key roles apart from having Megastar in the lead. Despite mixed response for the promos, Chiru’s stardom often brings people to theatres thereby registering huge opening weekend collections.
Releasing ‘The Ghost’ on the same day might be a huge risk for Nagarajuna but the good friends offscreen seems to not worry about it at all. Speaking about the clash, Nagarjuna said that he admired Chiranjeevi for a long time and praised the ‘Tagore’ hero’s achievements throughout his long career. Nag called him a mighty opponent and claimed that he is anxious and nervous about them releasing their films on the same day. But he pointed out that Dasara season always has 3-4 releases and most of them perform well. He added that a film doesn’t do well without content even if there is no competition.
We need to wait and see if both these films succeed or any one of it succeeds or none of them succeed.
