Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi seek Jagan’s appointment

The government of Andhra Pradesh’s stand on the cinema ticket prices issue has thrown the Telugu film industry and also the theatrical industry into overdrive. Cinema halls across the state are seizing operations at an alarming rate, due to the unfair pricing restrictions that are being imposed by the state government. The situation is very dire and if it continues for another few weeks, we might see theatres seizing operations on a permanent basis. It is high time that Tollywood bigwigs step in to resolve the issue at the earliest. This can’t be taken lightly as Andhra Pradesh market, for a really long time now, has been the strong hold for the Telugu film industry.

Now, it is head that Tollywood bigwigs like Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna are actually ready to step into action and find an amicable solution to the whole fiasco. Apparently, both Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi have requested the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s appointment and are likely to meet with the YCP chief in the next 2-3 days. They are hopeful of securing Jagan’s appointment soon, given the fact that the chief minister shares a very good relationship with Nagarjuna.

Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi will be discussing about the ongoing ticket prices row with YS Jagan and request him to go easy on the film industry. They will also be proposing a new pricing system that will benefit the distributors and also the state government along with the producers. It is said that the government of Andhra Pradesh is particularly displeased with the film exhibition circuit making a fool out of the taxation slab by selling black tickets and not paying necessary taxes to the state government. The government is focusing on the same issue and it is expected to be the focal point of discussion once the Tollywood delegation meets with YS Jagan later this week or early next week.

The delegation is also likely to meet with the newly appointed cinematography minister of Andhra Pradesh Perni Nani. The new ticket pricing proposal will be delivered to Nani and later to the chief minister YS Jagan.
