Naidu silent, as Subba Reddy attacks Akhila!

It looks like Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has completely given up with two of his party leaders in Kurnool district are indulging in factional fights.

For the last two days, there has been a virtual war of words between senior TDP leader and former AP Seeds Corporation chairman A V Subba Reddy and former minister Bhuma Akhila Priya.

Though both the leaders were indulging in a bitter political war in Allagadda region in the past too, Naidu, who was then the chief minister, managed to bring about some compromise in the interest of the party and elections.

They remained low for some time but soon after the TDP lost the elections in May 2019, Subba Reddy and Akhila have been back to their factional feuds. And the latest allegation by Subba Reddy that Akhila and her husband Bhargav Ram had engaged hired assassins for a supari of Rs 50 lakh to eliminate him.

Akhila alleged that Subba Reddy was making baseless allegations and suspected the hand of YSRC behind him. She said Subba Reddy was welcome to Allagadda to involve in serious politics.

On Saturday, Subba Reddy reiterated his allegation that Akhila had given supari of Rs 50 lakh to the assassins to eliminate him, but was saved by Kadapa police.

“Instead of responding to my allegations, she is throwing challenges. Let her make it clear whether she had not conspired to kill him. I have not named her, but I came to know only from the police that she was accused no. 4,” he said.

The TDP leader said he had saved Akhila’s father Bhuma Nagi Reddy from being attacked by his rivals with bombs. “Everybody knows what my political history is in Allagadda. I gave up my career for the sake of Subba Reddy. I don’t understand why Akhila, who grew up like his daughter, wanted to eliminating me,” he wondered.

Subba Reddy said if Akhila continued in politics, many people would lose their lives in Allagadda. He said he would support any other person, except Akhila in the constituency. The TDP leadership should have a rethinking about her, he said.

In spite of all this rucks, there is not a single word from the TDP chief. Instead of calling both of them and bring about a patch up, Naidu remained silent. May be, he has lost control over the party leaders in Kurnool.
