While simultaneously attracting the YSR Congress party MLAs and other prominent leaders into the Telugu Desam Party, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be eyeing even the Congress leaders at all levels.
According to party circles, Naidu is of the view that the TDP should attract as many Congress leaders as possible at all levels — right from mandal to constituency to district – so that there would be strong party base at every level. This is also to deny an opportunity to the YSR Congress party to attract the Congress leaders.
Apparently, Naidu got the idea after seeing Congress leaders like Kandula Durgesh of East Godavari jumping into the YSR Congress party. There are reports that even Malladi Vishnu is most likely to join the YSR Congress party. So, Naidu wondered why such leaders are not pulled into the TDP through Operation Akarsh.
He is learnt to have asked the ministers and party’s districts unit chiefs to get in touch with influential and honest leaders from Congress party and persuade them to join TDP in order to strengthen the ruling party.
