Naidu worried about TDP leaders, not YSRCP

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said he was not worried about tackling YSR Congress party politically, but was concerned over growing indiscipline among his own TDP party leaders who are damaging the party’s prospects.

Naidu reportedly made these remarks at the party’s coordination committee meeting held at his Vundavalli residence near Vijayawada on Monday. He particularly expressed serious concern over the indifferent attitude of the party leaders from Guntur district.

“When district in-charge minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu held a meeting of the district party leaders, local MLAs and MPs, besides several other leaders abstained. How can we run the party with such leaders? Their attitude will ruin the party,” he said.

The TDP president said YSRC was not in a great position to win the elections, as various surveys indicated.“But that does not mean we should be complacent. Our weakness should not give strength to the rival parties,” he said.Naidu said under any circumstances, the TDP should win the Nandyal by-elections.

“I don’t know what you do and what strategy you would follow. But we have to win the seat by hook or crook. Otherwise, it will send a negative message to the people and the cadre,” he said.

The meeting held discussions on TTD chairman, board members appointment, RTC chairman, members along with filling of other nominated posts apart from strategies for the Nandyal by-polls.
