The novel Coronavirus had a deadly impact on India and continues to show its impact on the country. Treating the patients, several doctors, medical staff members, and Corona warriors lost their lives in the two waves.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with doctors, paramedical staff, and other frontline health workers at temple city Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency. The meeting was held virtually.
During the meeting, Narendra Modi paid tributes to the Corona warriors. The Prime Minister had tears in his eyes and his voice was choked. He took multiple pauses as he was unable to complete his sentences.
“Covid-19 has snatched many of our loved ones from us. I pay my respect to the people who died of Covid-19 and express my condolences to their beavered families,” the Prime Minister said.
“Vaccination has provided protection to our frontline workers, who could serve the people. In the coming days, we will be extending vaccine protection to everyone,” the observed
“In our ongoing fight against Covid-19, a new challenge of black fungus has surfaced. We must focus on taking precaution and preparation to deal with it,” he added.
As per the country’s apex medical body, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), since the second wave has started, the country has lost 270 doctors. In the first wave, 748 doctors have succumbed to the virus across the nation, IMA said.
