Sania Mirza supporting a country that has issues with India at the border did not sit well with the fans. They asked whom she was supporting. A hashtag against Sania Mirza was trending on social media that received a flood of memes and hate comments. Social media is filled with such comments.
Fans are not happy with the fact that Sania Mirza who plays tennis for India had supported Pakistan in the semis and cheered for the team that is arch-rivals for India in the game. In the tweets, the angry netizens asked why Sania Mirza doesn’t come to watch India matches but reaches to see Pakistan matches. Sani was called a traitor by a few fans.
The netizens also sought the cancelation of Sania Mirza’s citizenship as she supports Pakistan. They even tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the tweets to cancel her citizenship.
