As the decision to postpone the elections by 6 weeks citing the spread of Coronavirus did not go too well with the YCP party, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh had received multiple complaints.
One of those are even from the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stating that the State Election Commissioner is biased towards Chandra Babu Naidu.
The SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar was then asked by the Andhra Pradesh Governor to meet.
Even the State Chief Secretary Neelam Sahni had written to SEC that the the notice to postpone elections should be withdrawn.
Amidst all of this chaos, the meeting is scheduled to take place to get a better understanding of the next steps.
Let us hope that after the meeting, there seems to be a specific outcome on the issue. Neither was there any statement from either of them early today before the meeting.
It is to be awaited what does Governor Vibhushan have got to say about the decision, whether to withdraw or to continue as usual. But the decision should be keeping public safety as top priority.
