The name of VV Vinayak is still counted among the star directors of tollywood and he has recently delivered a non-Baahubali industry hit, ‘Khaidi No.150’. Despite all these, no star hero is reportedly showing interest to work with this commercial filmmaker.Khaidi No.150 has become only the second Telugu film to collect Rs 100 Cr share but it was all the magic of Chiru’s comeback. From this film, Vinayak has gained as much as Kajal did, ‘Almost Nothing’. Before this Chiru starrer, Vinayak had delivered disappointments like ‘Alludu Seenu’ and ‘Akhil’. If not for Chiru’s faith in Vinayak, he wouldnt have got Khaidi No.150 in the first place.
The graph of Vinayak has fallen drastically after ‘Nayak’ and even the success of ‘Khaidi No.150’ hasn’t turned his fortune. Now, the situation is that no star hero is ready to work with Vinayak unless he proves himself again.
A project with NTR was in discussion for a long time but the incapability of Vinayak in preparing a script and NTR’s newly developed penchant for content-driven films has stopped the duo from collaborating again. Keeping Pawan aside from this discussion for obvious reasons, Mahesh, Bunny and Charan have already lined up potential directors. Prabhas also has a long list of pending projects.If Vinayak wants to bounce back into the top league, he has to deliver at least one hit with a young hero. Its pity to see a director who has just delivered an industry hit in such situation.
