Speaking to mediapersons in the Secretariat here on Friday, the Labour minister emphatically said they would not agree for making Hyderabad city a Union Territory under any circumstances. He also warned that the citizens would resist with all their force if such a proposal was mooted. Nagendar said leaders of both the regions should abide by the decision of the party high command.
Nagendar exuded confidence that party chief Sonia Gandhi would not take any program that could hit the people of one region or the other. He also assured the Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad not to worry about their safety.
Deploring destruction of the statues of national leaders Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, who had sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation, Nagendar appealed to the Seemandhra leaders to step in and prevent vandalism against the statues.
