All these things go coherent only with former IPL chief Lalit Modi, whose escape from India and settlement in UK became a major controversy. With big guns like Sushma Swaraj and Vausdara Raje facing embarrassment, now the Enforcement Directorate got a Court Order passed where a non-bailable arrest warrant is issued against him.
Sometime back Enforcement Directorate has first issued summons to the controversial former cricket administrator but he hasn’t responded to them. Now under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Court has issued this warrant basing on ED’s revelations to the court. Modi has left India in 2010 after accusations have erupted about his illegal money laundering.
Recently he has shot to headlines after the way his escape from India was planned. The case is related to inquiring Modi about the flaws in the multi-crore rupees television rights deal regarding IPL, for which Modi is the mastermind.
