‘Not Capital City… Mental Hospital Can Be Built There’

Blame it on the heat in general or the heat around the building of new capital city, looks like all politicians are having a field day making headline-making statements. For now, it is the turn of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu to say something so strange.
Reacting to the constant comments being made that the capital city should have been developed in forest lands instead of snatching land from hapless farmers in the capital zone, Chandra Babu said that forest lands were not conducive for capital city.
Speaking at length in the state Assembly, he said that those lands were best for the construction of a mental hospital. Though one is not sure as to what exactly he meant by that, he went on to add that the farmers were giving up their lands voluntarily.
Babu further said that he will always be indebted to them for their support and promised that apart from giving them appropriate financial compensation, he will also make sure that they be given whatever extra facilities possible.
He said that the area was ear-marked after visiting and checking out the feasibility of various other areas and that he will keep his promise of building a capital with world-class infrastructure.
The Andhra Pradesh CM also pointed that AP was the only state with which Japan signed an MoU. He of course could not resist adding that Singaporeans gave him the same support and respect even when he was in opposition.
