It was N Chandrababu Naidu, who set up the capital of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati region. However, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government surprisingly brought up the decentralisation concept and proposed three capitals for the state.
Ever since the announcement of three capitals, the farmers of Amaravati have opposed it and the major opposition party TDP has supported the farmers and participated in the protests actively.
The other day, AP High Court delivered a favourable verdict to the Amaravati region, asking the Jagan government to take up the development works of Amaravati as per the master plan.
With this, celebrations erupted in farmers of the region as they burst crackers and distributed sweets to hail the court order. Interestingly, the Amaravati Porata Samithi has announced that they got justice because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and anointed the PM’s picture with milk.
While the TDP has been in the fight since the beginning, the BJP played a safe game and in the end, all the credit goes to PM Modi. Well, this is surely a shock to Mr Naidu as the farmers are praising the BJP, keeping aside TDP’s struggle.
