It has been a long time since power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan got into field to lead agitations against the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan stopped taking up active political campaign long ago and confined himself to shootings and during the lockdown period, he did not have even that activity. For a long time, he has gone into a virtual oblivion.
Occasionally, he has been tweeting on one issue or the other, especially after watching the tweets of his friend and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu or the latter’s son Nara Lokesh.
On Monday, Pawan at last found yet another issue – the latest decision of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to sell its assets in Tamil Nadu and Rishikesh.
In fact, the Jana Sena chief reacted a bit late on it, after the Bharatiya Janata Party has started raking up a big ruckus and the TDP leaders joining the chorus.
Pawan tweeted saying it was wrong on the part of the TTD to sell its assets donated by devotees.
“TTD is a role model for other temples in the country. All Hindu religious institutions and organizations look up to the TTD. As the largest and one of the richest religious institutions of the world, TTD must set a good example and best practices for others to follow,” he said.
He sought to know why the TTD had decided to sell its properties now without disclosing any reason.
“Where is the need for the TTD to sell its properties now? The board as well as the state government should give an explanation to the people on this,” Pawan said.
