In a historic farewell call, the 55-year old president phoned to one of the world’s most powerful woman and a leading administrator in Europe.
According to White House’s statement, Obama had his final telephone conversation with Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel before the former was leaving office and praised her as the “most reliable international partner he’s had”.
Over the years, the duo have always maintained a good relation to strengthen the ties between US and Germany and also, they share mutual veneration for each other.
