Ace Gymnast Dipa Karmakar, who shot to fame after the brilliant performance at Rio Olympics 2016, was accorded a grand reception after landing at Agartala airport on Monday. Though she failed to gain a medal Rio Olympics, her heart-winning attempt and fighting spirit was the most-talked subject in India in the recent times.
Soon after Dipa coming to India, many public and private organizations have planned to announce cash prizes, high level jobs, promotions and felicitations but the athlete had other to skip them all. Unlike many sportspersons, she found no reasons to escape her MA examination on Tuesday.
India’s pride and to-be awarded Khel Ratna Dipa Karmakar is pursuing MA (vacation course) from Tripura University, besides undergoing gymnastics training from her coach Bishweshwar Nandi. Appreciating Dipa’s Olympic stint, her friends and faculty shares, ‘She’s equally brilliant in studies, game and it’s surprising to see her in the examination hall after landing from Rio.’
