Omicron Infections Reach 25, 2 Infections Detected In Gujarat!


The novel Coronavirus had a devastating impact on India as back-to-back waves have hit the country so hard. Everything came to a standstill with the pandemic impact. When everything seemed to look good, another variant was detected by the scientists in South Africa that had now entered India.

Hinting at a worrisome situation, the Covid infections triggered by the Omicron variant are increasing day by day. After two infections were detected in the country, the total toll of infections had mounted to 25.

As per the media reports, new infections were detected in Gujarat. The newly detected infections are the close contacts of the person who was infected with Omicron in Gujarat, who is an NRI. Zimbabwe returnee’s wife and brother-in-law were infected with the virus.

As a safety precaution, all the close contacts of the NRI were tested to detect the virus. However, no infections were detected except for his wife and his brother-in-law. Their samples were sent to the lab and further reporters are awaited.

After the infections were detected, they were shifted to the special Omicron ward at the state-run hospital for treatment. Officials said they have mild symptoms of the virus. They are under treatment under the Covid protocols.
