Salman Khan’s highly anticipated film, ‘Tubelight’ hit screens today. Going by the response, even the actor’s unbeatable crowd-pulling capability may fall short in saving this alleged ‘artificial’ film from sinking at box office.
Despite the promotional blitzkrieg from Salman the team of ‘Tubelight’, the film somehow couldn’t attract audiences’ attention right from the promos. And, when the D Day came today, the film is teared apart by critics for its pretentious and artificial drama. The response on social also is very poor. Mainly, Salman’s ineffective acting has come under scanner as he chose a difficult character this time, of a man-child.
In the past few years, Salman has evolved as a reckoning force at box office, and his charisma has pulled even seemingly duds like ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’, ‘Dabangg 2’ and ‘Bodyguard’ to safe shores. The same cant’ be said about ‘Jai Ho’ though. From the early response and trade reports, it seems that Tubelight is going to be a bigger fiasco than Jai Ho.
