Operation ‘Sura’ in AP – 10000 Police officials on duty


YSRC is aiming to clean up the state of Andhra Pradesh from the liquor addiction. Identifying the illegal liquor production units, Andhra Pradesh Government launched operation “Sura” with 10000 Police officials.

Under the supervision of Vineet Brijlal, AP’s enforcement director, 10000 Police officials conducted raids all over the state at once. 759 regions were initially identified and the Police officials arrested 702 people for doing illegal liquor business. Around 7000 litres of cheap liquor which was locally produced was seized and 24 vehicles were taken into custody.

683 cases were filed in this operation and the government says this to be the first phase. In the coming days, this operation is expected to clean the state completely from illegal and cheap liquor. It is known that YSRC introduced few schemes in the past restricting the liquor licenses and the timings.

Lets hope that operation “Sura” will make the state of Andhra Pradesh liquor addiction free and will boost the productivity.
