The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is a Hyderabad based party, which has eight assembly seats and one MP seat in Telangana. The party has already made its presence felt in several other states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and is now planning to do the same in the upcoming elections in West Bengal.
AIMIM party president, Asaduddin Owaisi said that he plans to take the party to Tamil Nadu, where he thinks that the party has high chances of winning in the elections. Speaking to the media on Monday, Owaisi said that the party would identify the places where they have chances of winning, and would finalise their candidates accordingly.
Candidates of the AIMIM won in the Gujarat polls recently, and Owaisi is headed to Rajasthan to speak to his party members, while other party members are working hard in Uttar Pradesh as well. The Tamil Nadu general elections are scheduled to take place on April 6th, and the counting of the votes will be done by May 2nd. As many as 6,28,23,749 voters will be voting for their choice of representatives.
Indian Secular Front’s (ISF) Abbas Siddiqui will be sharing the stage with the Left and Congress parties in a rally in Kolkata on Sunday, and the Owaisi said that he would be speaking about his party’s strategy in West Bengal when the time feels right.
