A city civil court in Hyderabad today took up the case of writer Sharat Chandra who says the story of “Srimanthudu” was copied from his novel.

He has been making these allegations for some time and he has now moved to court and City Civil Court accepted case and sent notices to director Koratala Siva and producers of the movie. The notice was also sent to Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.

Sharat Chandra alleged that the movie was based on his novel “Chachentha Prema” that was published in Swathi magazine as series.

“I came to know that Srimanthudu is now being planned to be remade in Hindi with Hrithik Roshan. I am requesting court to give a stay on the remake efforts till the case is resolved,” Sharat Chandra asked the court through his lawyers. And the court sent notices to the makers and Hrithik. The next hearing will come on March 4th.

Koratala Siva earlier denied the charges of copying or stealing the story from this novel.

With no big releases around and the recent releases failing to keep the theaters occupied, producers of low budget movies are using this as an opportunity to cash in on.

Eight new films are releasing today and the number goes up if we include the dubbed ones. Although multiple releases every Friday has become a norm lately, eight releases on a day is some sort of a record for sure.

Thanks to its aggressive marketing strategy, Kshanam featuring Adivi Sesh and Adah Sharma is making more noise than the other new releases.

Padesave is the other film that is making some buzz because of Nagarjuna’s support. There is Eluka Majaka starring Vennela Kishore and Brahmanandam in the lead roles. This is veteran filmmaker Relangi Narasimharao’s 75th film it seems.

Srikanth’s Terror, a mandatory horror comedy Veeri veeri Gummadi Pandu, low budget films like Rajugarintlo edava roju, Appudala Ippudila and Ammayi Gola Srikrishna Leela are trying out their luck today.

Let’s see which movie stands out to be the best among these.

Kavitha Pampering Modi: Any LucK?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP from Nizamabad Kalvakuntla Kavitha is going all out to pamper Prime Minister Narendra Modi these days, with an obvious intention of getting into the Union Cabinet, while the TRS party leaders back home are expressing dissatisfaction over the ill-treatment meted out to the State.

The latest tweets by Kavitha praising Modi and Railway budget have raised many an eyebrow. On Railway budget, Kavitha tweeted: “70 crs. for peddapalli-nizamabad railway line allocated in the railway budget. Bodhan-Bidar railway line approved. Thank U @sureshpprabhu Ji”

“Last time we got 140 crs. This is the last leg of allocation which will help the project to hit the finish line.”

And on Modi, Kavitha tweeted: “Thank You @narendramodi Ji for releasing Rs 450 crores as Special Assistance for 9 backward districts of Telangana.”

Her tweets are in sharp contrast to the statements given by the TRS ministers who accused the Centre of doing injustice with Telangana in the Railway Budget.

Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said the Centre should allocate more funds in supplementary budget for completion of ongoing and pending railway projects in Telangana State.

Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna said that the Centre has completely neglected Adilabad district in the Railway Budget. Not a single project has been announced to increase Adilabad’s connective with State capital and no new line has been sanctioned. He said not a single suggestion given by the State Government has been accepted.

Does it not sound ridiculous?
